History is Made: Obama sworn in as President of the United States!

Tuesday morning we all got up way too early to go to the Inauguration. We knew traffic would be bad, but we had no idea. So Vern, Viv, Traci, Geoff, Wes and I piled into the car, bundled up like snowmen, and headed to the Metro Station. What was usually a 15 minute commute was about 2 hours.
We finally made it to the Metro Station, only to see the line was backed up into the parking deck. But, at least we could stretch our legs. The Metro was packed and it was not the most pleasant commute, but it was worth it. When we finally got to The National Mall, we picked a spot and then the waiting in 25 degree temps for the Inauguration to start.
Finally, it was time for the main event. It was awesome seeing President Obama being sworn into office and knowing history was in the making right then and there.
It was totally worth the crowd and cold, and to mark it off of our list. Thanks Vern and Viv for a great time and giving us the chance to be at the Inauguration!
