Violet and Blake..Vi is sporting her Toms!
Baptist Health Foundation held a Mix and Mingle Fundraiser with Chief Toms Shoe giver and founder, Blake Mycowski on Wednesday. Since Wes and I are BIG fans of Toms and Violet owns some little bitty Toms as well, we wanted to meet Blake and support the Baptist Health Foundation. It was a blast. Violet stole the show in her little Toms and hanging out in the big shoe. As you can see, she was thrilled :). She had her picture face on but that didn't stop us from snapping photos. Blake even snapped some on his iPhone of Vi in the shoe. If you have not checked out Toms, please do. The motto is "one for one". For every pair of Toms shoes purchased, a pair is given to a child in need. Who wouldn't love supporting that?Thursday, April 29, 2010
Social/Charity Events: It's all about the babies!
Saturday was a very busy yet fun charity event day for the Ward household. First, mom, Violet and I went to do the March for Babies for the March of Dimes. Thanks to our family and friends, Violet and I raised $1580.00 for our team! Our team, Avery's Aviators raised over $8,000 for the cause! What a feat! It was touching and emotional to know how many people were there to support us in reaching our goal and to help such a wonderful cause. The clouds were low on the drive out the Promenade and then...as soon as the walk was about to start...kaboom! Here came the downpour with lightening (yikes!). So we hurried to get Violet out of there!! But, in consolation, the afternoon was gorgeous so I took the dogs walking and had my own March for Babies! Love to all that contributed!
After the walk, Violet and Hallie went to Grammie and Popi's so Tony, Serena, Wes and I could attend Craws for a Cause. This was a super crawfish boil to raise money to purchase two new NICU beds for Baptist Hospital. The lines were long, but the company was great. After, we went to Gusano's to hang out...we made it until 11:30! Wow! A fun time was had by all..and an added bonus, my friend Jeff was there!! We have been trying to catch up FOREVER so it was wonderful to see him and catch up on our kids..wait..what? Two years ago, that would not have been a thought! My how time flies!

Travel Review: Chapel Hill fun with family!
Da plane! Da plane!
Wes had a little work to do in Raleigh, North Carolina, so Violet and I decided to hop a flight with him and go see Lisa, Jack and Jason in Chapel Hill. It was such a wonderful time! We stayed with them so we could have extra time to visit. Lisa, Jack, Violet and I went to the Raleigh Life and Science Museum and had a blast! We had wonderful baked ziti (a Worthington classic) and fun, relaxing playtime on Friday. Friday evening Wes' friend Brandon and his wife took Wes, Vi and I to a wonderful french restaurant in Durham. Brandon's sister is the pastry chef there...need I say more? Saturday was family playground time and a wonderful pizza lunch in the village. It was so wonderful to spend time with Lisa and family...I wished we live closer! Also, Violet did wonderful on all flights!!Tuesday, April 13, 2010
